EXPERIENCE

Take me to palenque is a plan to live and enjoy  El Festival de Tambores y Expresiones Culturales de San Basilio de Palenque which is considered a intangible cultural heritage  of humanity for being the first free town of colonial America. 

​

Get ready for a long day from Saturday at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday at 3:00 a.m. 

 

We leave Gethsemane at 9:00 on Saturday morning and after one hour of crossing we will arrive to San Basilio de Palenque where we will receive our host with a welcome cocktail.

 

All the time we have available a bus with air-conditioned which will be parked near to the event park to serve as a refuge for resting and storing luggage.

​

Later, we will make a historical of the town and participate in the different cultural workshops of Drum, Gastronomy, Ancestral Medicine, Dance, Hairstyles and Palenquera Language. 

 

For lunch and dinner we will taste typical dishes of the Palenquera gastronomy.

​

From 3:00 p.m. we will enjoy the party where dance groups and the best groups of Champeta and traditional African music will be performed.

 

We will dance with Bailaremos con las Estrellas de Palenque, Sexteto Tabala, Chongo de Colombia, Kevin Florez, y muchos más.

 

On Sunday at 2:00 a.m. we will return to Cartagena.
